Asking for help (this is new for me!)
If You’ve Asked to Help
Everyone I’ve told about my upcoming surgery has immediately asked, “What can I do to help?” And honestly, just offering means so much to me. It makes me feel incredibly supported and loved.
Several people have asked about a Meal Train or a GoFundMe. So… my sister has started a Meal Train, and Meredith set up a GoFundMe for me. At first I was hesitant, but I finally decided that I will need the help. I’ve also decided this whole experience is one big exercise in letting go of control and leaning into the kindness of others.
I do want to stress that I do not expect anyone to donate. If you feel called to help financially, it means more to me than I can even put into words. If you don’t, I completely understand and there is absolutely no judgment whatsoever.
Even small contributions truly help more than you might think while I’m unable to work for a while.
For anyone who has asked, here are a few ways you can help if you’d like:
~ Prayers, good vibes, and love. I will gladly take as much of all of that as I can get.

~ Venmo:
If Venmo is easier, you can also send support that way: @Andie-Freberg
If any of the links give you trouble, you should also be able to find them by searching Andie Freberg.
Overwhelm seems to be the most consistent feeling I’ve had lately. First there’s the overwhelm of the diagnosis and the upcoming surgery. Then the overwhelm of trying to get everything handled before I’m out of work for 6–8 weeks. Then the worry about what things will look like while I’m off work. (Being self-employed is amazing… until you suddenly can’t actually work and the bills still show up.)
And now, I’m overwhelmed again—but this time in the best way—by all the love people have already shown me.
“Thank you” will never feel like enough to express how much your kindness means to me.
